Dog Grooming in Tampa
At Grande Style Grooming, we enforce strict vaccination and health requirements. The number of vaccination booster requirements for vaccinations can vary based upon the age of the pet and the types of vaccines needed are determined by your vet. Vaccinations must be administered at least 48 hours prior to arrival under the guidance of a licensed veterinarian. However, we prefer vaccinations be administered 10 days before check-in. Written proof is required. You can find your pets vaccination records at the bottom of your most recent receipt from the vet. A rabies vaccination slip is given by your vet at the time that your pets rabies shot is given. We must have proof of rabies on file for all dogs over 16 weeks old.
I understand that some dogs (including one of my own) can no longer have any vaccines. In this case, just have your vet write a note.
We accept puppies who are on schedule with their core vaccines, and have been cleared by the vet for grooming,
All dogs should have the following core vaccines:
We prefer not to handle pets with broken skin, bacterial, or fungal infections. We understand that some pets have chronic issues. We will make determinations on a case by case basis as whether to proceed with the groom or reschedule the pet when the skin is healthier.
We cannot accept pets with heart murmurs over grade 3.
Heart murmurs in dogs are graded on a scale of 1 to 6, with Grade 1 being the least severe and Grade 6 being the most severe. The grading system reflects the loudness of the murmur, and a higher grade generally indicates a more significant problem. Here's a more detailed breakdown of the grades:
It's important to note that not all heart murmurs are serious. Innocent or physiologic murmurs, often found in puppies, are usually harmless and may disappear as the dog matures. However, all murmurs should be evaluated by a veterinarian to determine the underlying cause and whether treatment is necessary.
We cannot accept dogs in C or D of congestive heart failure.
The risk and progression of CHF in dogs is classified by stages similar to the way it is categorized for humans with CHF. The stages run from an initial risk for developing CHF but not showing any symptoms (Stage A) to severe symptoms (Stage D).
Symptoms of CHF in dogs can be one or more of the following clinical signs:
Seek an emergency vet immediately if your dog is experiencing any signs of respiratory distress or trouble breathing. Your dog may need hospitalization and immediate care when experiencing moderate to severe signs of congestive heart failure.
We do not accept pets with eye ulcers, or other serious eye conditions unless completely cleared by the veterinarian.
We do not accept dogs in heat, as it causes undo stress on the boys in the salon. Please reschedule.
We love the senior dogs, and will continue to offer the services they need as long as the pet can physically and mentally handle the rigors of the grooming process.
Dogs with serious health concerns will be accepted as long as they can physically handle the process without pain or difficulty. Some conditions, such as cancer can cause discomfort for the pet.
We do not accept pets with a loose stool, if a pet starts to have a loose stool in the salon, we will send them home and reschedule when they are feeling better.
We do not accept pets with a cloudy or green nasal discharge for any reason.
